If you've been around here at all over the past several years, we don't need to tell you how quickly classes fill up! Thus, mark your calendars and don't procrastinate if you have your eye on something in particular. Stop by the front desk or visit the online portal -- whatever works for you!
Tuesday, March 26 - Thursday, March 28 | 10 am - 6 pm
Hey kids, get the best out of spring break! Join us for the Spring Breaker club tournament featuring boys & girls divisions in 18, 15, and 12 & under age groups. Players are guaranteed at least two matches AND a complimentary hoodie. Level is intermediate or higher, with the ability to serve and keep score required. Win or lose, you'll get great match experience and come away with some sweet swag.
It's $50 to enter (online or in person). Matches may take place any time between 10 am - 6 pm. We are allotting three days just in case, but the event will only go that long perhaps for finalists and semi-finalists; depends on the draw sizes. Exact match start times will be relayed via email once the March 18 deadline passes.
Wednesday, April 24 | 9:45 - 11:15 am
Lauren Goebel's presentation last month was so informative and entertaining that she's coming back for an encore! The tennis player who is now a physical therapist at Smith Physical Therapy+ will enthusiastically take you through many different pre- and post-playing stretches to keep you out there fluidly playing rather than in here painfully sitting. There are technically two different free RSVP options (9:45 - 10:30 and 10:30 - 11:15 am), but it's very flexible and you are welcome to just stop by whenever time allows -- before class, after class, whatever!
Saturday, April 27 | 9:30 am - 1:30 pm
The wait is over! It's time to celebrate a monumental occasion over a year in the making. The day will begin with the official acknowledgements and cutting of the ceremonial ribbon, followed by an entertaining set of exhibition doubles put on by our loveable Racket Club pro staff. Next we'll be offering a whole slew of activities to keep everyone busy including cardio tennis, pee wee tennis, a fun court to win prizes on, and pickleball for those who haven't yet given it a try. We'll wrap things up with a round robin pickleball tournament and consider these courts officially broken in.
The event is completely free to attend, as are the refreshments from Dunkin' and Jersey Mike's. Adult beverages may be purchased from the bar. No need to RSVP for anything other than the pickleball tournament (24 players maximum), which will be intermediate level and any gender combination. Let's get things started!
Wednesday, June 26 | 9 am Shotgun Start / 3 pm Awards Banquet & Silent Auction
Wednesday, June 26 brings us to Pinecrest in Huntley to prove that courts aren't the only place we can hit errant shots and have a great time. Golf, lunch, the after-banquet...and don't forget about the silent auction -- we already have TERRIFIC auction items lined up including tickets to the US OPEN! All in the name of raising money for the Herrick-Thomas Memorial Foundation so that more kids may have access to lessons at the Club.
The schedule features a 9 am shotgun start and 3 pm awards banquet & silent auction. And get this for the food:
The post-round meal is even more exciting, as we're talking about:
Register today for your spot in the golf or, if you'd simply like to sponsor or donate, do that. Your support is greatly appreciated!
What a summer it's been with the four outdoor hard courts under complete and total construction! See what's transpired from the initial demolition through the laying of the asphalt to the installation of the fences to the application of the special ProBounce surface and on and on and ON!
While the project has taken a bit longer than hoped, players ought to be in for quite a treat next spring. Thank you for your patience, friends!
